The Centre for Equality is a registered Australian not-for-profit, non-government organisation, limited by guarantee. We work locally and globally to achieve our vision. The Centre was established to promote equality and to advance human rights for all people.

How we work
Consulting
The Centre's range of services includes consulting and project management for civil society organisations and government on education development initiatives, health investments and gender equality programs.
Mentoring
Mentoring and coaching services for teachers and educators. The Centre supports education professionals looking to improve teaching capability and learning within their institutions.
Youth development
Coaching and training initiatives for young people who are socially disadvantaged, unemployed or at risk.
We also work with CALD communities in ACE and foundation skills development, personal development, and employability skills training.
Healthy living
Creating and contributing to health education initiatives which help create a foundation for a healthy and productive community, including work with regional and international partners on improving the skills of health professionals.
Tertiary Education Scholarship, International
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that technical and professional education shall be made generally available. The Centre for Equality sponsors this initiative in the belief that everyone has the right to education, without discrimination and regardless of financial means.
United Nations
The Centre for Equality, Ltd. holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, having been granted accreditation in 2015. The status recognises the Centre's work in its field and allows us to bring Australian evidence and experience into the international human rights system — through written and oral statements, and participation in ECOSOC processes and their subsidiary bodies.

Research
The Research Hub is established by the CFE Board as a research centre — an organisational structure through which the Centre hosts, coordinates and governs research. Its purpose is to build an evidence base that advances equality, informing the advocacy, education and service activities of the Centre and its partners, while providing high-quality, ethically governed research experiences.
About us
The Centre for Equality is a non-government organisation dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights in Australia. It is a registered not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, and an active supporter of the ACFID Code of Conduct. The Centre is led by a volunteer board of directors, each bringing distinct expertise and a shared commitment to its vision. Directors are active participants in conferences at the United Nations and with other civil society organisations.
How we got here
The Centre for Equality is founded as a non-government organisation.
The Centre is incorporated as a public not-for-profit company.
Officially launched by Anne Burgess, then Acting Commissioner for the Equal Opportunity Commission.
Granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
The Research Hub opens, hosting supervised research and student placements.

Get involved
Youth on the Move
A Rotary-endorsed foundation that promotes and rewards innovative young people, primarily up to the age of 25. Youth on the Move offers mentoring and support, academic scholarships, and funding for new ideas — including connecting young people to sport through YOTM Cadets.
