The Centre for Equality is a non-government organisation that was originally founded in 2003. In 2010, the Centre for Equality Ltd was incorporated as a public not for profit company.
On the 18th March 2011, the Centre was officially launched by the Acting Commissioner for the Equal Opportunity Commission, Anne Burgess.
Since its launch in 2011, the Centre for Equality has been registered with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and is an active participant
The Centre is focused on bringing about positive social change through advocacy, innovation, social entrepreneurship and development initiatives designed to promote human rights.
Our particular focus is in the areas of:
- advocacy,
- education & training,
- policy development, and
- law reform
We work in collaboration with civil society, government and industry in Australia and internationally.
